We Need You!
Welcome to Wests Mitchelton Junior Rugby League Club! Our club’s warm and welcoming community is built on the hard work and dedication of amazing volunteers like you. We are so proud of the vibrant spirit and excellent facilities that we offer, and it’s all thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers. Your contribution makes Mitchy a fantastic place for players, families, and visitors alike.
Why Volunteer?
We’re always in need of helping hands to keep things running smoothly for all our teams each week. Whether you have a day, an hour, or even just a few moments to spare, your help—big or small—will make a huge difference. Volunteering at Mitchy means more than just supporting the club. It’s a chance to become part of a friendly, supportive community while having fun along the way.
How You Can Help
Here are some ways you can make a positive impact:
- Setting Up and Packing Down: Help with setting up the fields, goals, and equipment before games and packing them away afterwards. This ensures everything is ready for the players and keeps our fields in top condition.
- Canteen Duty: Assist in the canteen, serving food and drinks to players, spectators, and visitors. It’s a great way to meet people and enjoy the game-day atmosphere.
- Groundskeeping: Help keep the fields and facilities in great shape by mowing, marking the field lines, and ensuring the grounds are clean and welcoming.
- Event Assistance: Support club events from setup to cleanup. Whether it’s a tournament, social event, or awards ceremony, your help makes everything run smoothly.
- Fundraising: Get involved in organizing and running fundraising activities. Your efforts help maintain our facilities and create the best possible experience for our players.
- Administration: Help with behind-the-scenes tasks like data entry, managing club communications, or assisting with registrations—essential roles that keep the club running efficiently.
Team-Specific Roles
- Leaguesafe: Assist the coaching staff on the field by delivering water, managing player interchanges, and attending to injuries. Completion of an online course is required, and the club provides uniforms for registered volunteers.
- League First Aid (LFA): Teams in U15 and below require an accredited LFA at each game. The NRL provides the necessary training through an online course and half-day face-to-face session. All costs, including uniforms, are covered by the club.
- First Aid Officer (FAO): For teams U16 and above, an accredited FAO is required. The NRL offers training via an online course and a 1.5-day face-to-face session. The club covers all costs, including on-field apparel.
