Coaching Opportunities Available!

Wests Mitchelton Rugby League Football Club is dedicated to providing a professional and supportive environment for our players, members, and guests. As part of this commitment, we are currently negotiating with local and state governments to upgrade our playing facilities and clubhouse. These upgrades will further enhance the experience for all involved and continue to position our club as a premier destination for rugby league in the region.

We have several coaching positions available across all grades within the junior competition, ranging from Under 6’s to Under 17’s. Additionally, we also offer coaching positions for the Under 19’s and Men's Open teams in the senior divisions.

We are always looking for individuals who are passionate about coaching and eager to contribute to a thriving and dynamic club. As a coach at Wests Mitchelton, you will have the opportunity to work with talented young athletes, helping them to develop their skills, foster a love for the game, and achieve their full potential. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative community, dedicated to promoting the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence both on and off the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing Training Programs: Create and implement effective training sessions that cater to the specific needs of each age group, focusing on skill development, physical fitness, and game strategy.

  • Player Development: Provide individual feedback and coaching to help players improve their performance, understand game tactics, and develop a positive attitude towards training and competition.

  • Team Management: Manage team selections, rotations, and game-day strategies to ensure all players have the opportunity to participate and develop.

  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, and club officials to ensure everyone is informed and aligned with the club’s goals and values.

  • Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during training sessions and matches by adhering to club policies and procedures, including first aid and injury management protocols.

  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities provided by the club to enhance your coaching skills and knowledge.
